Ingleside Elsa went on to win Champion Female wtih Ingleside Madeline awarded Reserve Champion behind her.

Ingleside Comet (Oakridge Speculator x Ingleside Emily) was placed second in the Shire Gelding, 3yrs and Under Class with Ingleside Lucky Chance (Oakridge Speculator x Aarunga Gina) in 3rd.  

Ingleside Anastaia, ridden by Ineke Kuiper, won the Ridden Shire class, which was highly competitive with 8 quality entries.  Anastasia has inherited Speculator’s lovely topline and movement and looks fabulous under saddle.

The big black gelding, Ingleside Enterprise, a full brother to Elsa, achieved outstanding success by winning Reserve Champion Delivery Horse in the heavy horse harness section.  This was out of seven very well supported horse driving classes, some of them with 16 and 17 entries forward!!

Speculator continues to produce show quality horses of an amazingly consistent standard and his progeny have excelled under Australian, UK and US judges over the past eight years since we imported him from the UK.  His progeny have been hugely successful in led classes, driving and riding classes, just as he has himself.  His foals are also renowned for their tractable and quiet temperament. 

Our new imported black colt, Escrick Extreme, won the ‘Shire Colt, under 2yrs’  class and went on to be awarded ‘Reserve Champion Shire Stallion or Colt’ behind another older imported stallion.  He is maturing into a huge horse, and will be serving some mares this spring although he has a lot of growing to do yet.

It was the first time out for Ingleside Olympia, and she was very well behaved all day. Ingleside Anastasia is an old hand at showing, and also took everything in her stride. Olympia and Anna both won their classes and were Champion and Reserve female Shires.

Next Anna went up against the champion stallion, did a marvellous job showing herself off, and was awarded Supreme Champion Shire.

Finally, Anna went up against the Supreme Champion Clydesdale, a lovely young filly owned by the Sercombe family. It was a close class, but the judge just couldn’t go past Anna, awarding her Supreme Champion Heavy Horse of the Show!

We were thrilled, and qutie tickled to recieve our first ever garland (which aren’t usually awarded to heavy horses for some reason).

Anna also placed 2nd in the ridden Shire class.

Ingleside Bright Spark – Supreme Champion Shire, Royal Queensland Show

Congratulations to Kelvin and Pam Smith on their success with Ingleside Bright Spark (known as Cooper), winning Supreme Champion Shire at the Queensland Royal Show (The Ekka).  This is the second time that Cooper has won the Supreme Championship and we are thrilled that Kelvin and Parm are enjoying such success with him.

We could never have imagined how successful this year’s show would be for Ingleside Shires!  We entered 6 horses, all females, and they won and took the top placings in each class. We had 3 fillies in the under two year old class and they placed Ingleside Madeline  (foal) first, Ingleside Charisma (yearling) 2nd and Ingleside Penelope (foal) 3rd.  Ingleside Anastasia (3yrs) won the 2-3 year old class and the mare class was won by our Mingara Lady Ebony with Ingleside Symphony in 2nd.

The mare Championship class was a purely Ingleside affair, with Ebony taking it out with her daughter Madeline in reserve.

Ebony then went on to win Supreme Champion Shire.

A special congratulations to Sugarloaf Shires who placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Shire gelding class with Ingleside Flash Dance, Ingleside Snap Shot, Ingleside Comet and Sugarloaf Maximillian (Oakridge Speculator x Ingleside Elouise).

Thanks to all our team member – Sheryl Stephens, Annette Robinson, Kate Williams, Cai and Emma Thomas and Sarah Dooley.  Annette also exhibited her mare Turnara Lodge Nalla and placed 3rd in the 3 year old class as well as 3rd in the ridden!  Sarah rode Anna in the ridden class, and did very well, despite Anna misbehaving.  We are looking forward to seeing Sarah compete on her very own Inglesdie Lucky Chance in a couple of years time!

Escrick Extreme aged 10 months

Extreme was  bred by Paul and Matthew Bedford, and is by the hugely successful sire and show horse Penrhos Braveheart, a UK Super Premium stallion.    The Bedford family is famous throughout the Shire world for their amazing success in the show ring over many years.  Braveheart is a an 18.2hh black Shire stallion.  He was the 2011 National Champion Stallion and has recently been sold to Germany.

At only 10 months, Extreme already stands at nearly 16.2hh and we are confident that he will grow into a very large, high quality stud stallion.  His mother, Knutsford Carisma, is a true 19hh black mare with great breeding behind her.  He was just exhibited at the National Shire Horse Show in England, and came 3rd in a very strong class where he was up against much older horses.

Out of Mingara Lady Ebony and by Oakridge Speculator, Maddie is a beautiful and very big foal who at this stage we plan to keep as a future Ingleside show and brood mare.
