Another hot day at Kangaroo Valley. After a promising forecast earlier in the week, Saturday turned out to be mid 30s and humid. We took Ingleside Anastasia (filly 2 yrs) and Ingleside Remarkable (yearling colt) - his first ever show. Sam Leighton came along with Ingleside Strider (gelding 3 yrs) and Annette Robinson came back to help again - clearly a glutton for punishment after surviving Berry! 2011 was another great year for Ingleside at Sydney Royal Easter Show. We took four horses and came home with three placings. Mingara Lady Ebony won first place in the Shire Mare class. The other three horses were all in the 2 year old and under class, with Ingleside Anastasia placing 2nd and Ingleside Remarkable placing 5th (the first yearling in the lineup). We took Mingara Lady Ebony and Ingleside Anastasia to Berry Show on Saturday 5 February. It was SO HOT - over 40 degrees and everyone roasted all day. A massive thank you to both Annette Robinson and Samantha Leighton who came down to help. You wouldn't think you could imagine a more awful day for a show, but then I cast my mind back to Berry show last year where it was pouring rain and the showground was basically under water to think that perhaps that was actually worse. In the past 2 weeks we have been blessed with the safe arrival of three foals! Two fillies and a colt, all by Speculator. and all with fabulous markings. We are very happy with them and pleased they arrived healthy and are now happily bouncing around the paddock. Click 'Read more' for details and pictures. Congratulations to Cai and Emma Thomas who recently purchased Ingleside Emily. It was a sad day when we dropped her off and said goodbye, but at the same time we are happy that she has found such a wonderful home with people who will love her well. Emily is in foal to Oakridge Speculator and we hope she produces a wonderful foal for her new owners to start thier Shire stud!
