Mirage is a 16.1h stud book registered heritage Australian Stock Horse, with a very high percentage of Thoroughbred blood.    Progeny are registerable with the Australian Stock Horse Society as full stud book or first cross, the ACE Group in their performance horse register, Dilutes Australia as a dilute and ancillary, and the Australian Palomino Horse Breeders Association (APHA), depending on the mare’s registrations.

He is an ideal cross to Thoroughbred, Australian Stock Horse, Arabian or Warmblood mares, for those looking for good temperament and trainability, good movement, height, elegance and a golden coat.

He has the bonus of being 100 % buckskin or palomino producer to all but grey coloured mares, and to Perlino or Cremello mares he will produce a dilute foal.

Mirage is DNA colour tested ee AA CrCr, so will never produce a black buckskin / smoky black foal.

Mirage is a 3/4 sibling to Goldmine Latte-HSH (multiple National, Horse of the Year, State, and Royal Show Champion) and Skyview Champagne Rose-HSH, and a 1/2 sibling to Skyview Eternity-HSH (2015 National Buckskin Filly Horse of the Year).  Visit Skyview Stud (who also have frozen semen available as well as the occassional sibling/progeny for sale) for more details.

Mirage is a stunning stallion with a double cross to the legendary Claredale Champagne Charlie-HSH, who was perhaps the best performing palomino stallion to ever enter the show ring and one of the most influential sires of palomino horses in Australia. (See below for more information)

Goldmine Mirage-HSH has certainly inherited the easy going temperament that Charlie is renowned for passing down.   Calm and trainable with a beautiful trot and canter, Mirage is proof that you don’t need to compromise on movement or temperament to breed colour.

Claredale Champagne Charlie

Claredale Champagne CharlieCharlie won multiple ridden and led Royal Show Championships in QLD, NSW and VIC, including a successful dressage career, training up to Prix St George level. Charlie’s sire, Desert Gold, competed successfully in dressage at FEI level, and was a B Grade Showjumper.

Charlie’s progeny have been sold around Australia and overseas and are used for just about everything.

Born in Oxley Queensland, he was a son of Desert Gold, a palomino stallion who performed at Dressage, Jumping and in the Show Ring. Charlie’s dam Beauleigh Redwings, a daughter of the French imported stallion Casir was a quality mare with classical thoroughbred conformation which she passed onto all her foals. She was registered as a non-studbook thoroughbred and Australian Stock horse.

Charlie started what was to become a lovely stallion show performance career as a led and ridden stallion with Gail and Peter Rossington in Queensland and continued once sold to Jan and Collin Lovett to age 16. Charlie competed in official dressage and trained up to Prix St George level. His early show wins in Queensland included Champion Palomino stallion at Brisbane Royal. At the Queensland Palomino state show he was supreme led exhibit more than once and horse of the year in led and under saddle, and best presented. Charlie’s foals are sold to all states in Australia and exported overseas including the world cup show jumper Goldmine San Diego, who was sold to the U.S.A for six figures. Charlie’s legacy of super quality and ability combined with a temperament that is intelligent and a joy to work with, will be passed on from generation to generation.
